STOP THE SEWAGE!

We want to hear about how water pollution is impacting your area. Please fill in our survey below.

Our freshwater, our health, our wildlife and our enjoyment of our rivers and beaches have all been put at serious risk by greed and mismanagement. At the same time water bosses are pocketing millions in bonuses for delivering failure and ordinary people have been asked to pay an extra £156 a year in water bills. Its not right.

Here in Farnham and Bordon the situation has become critical, discharges of sewage are commonplace and combine that with more recent flooding events and our streets and homes become open sewers!

Haslemere waste water treatment works is the worst offender for sewage spills, where 50 spills lasting a total of 636.74 hours – 26 and a half days – were recorded in 2022. Its sewage goes into the River Wey between Haslemere and Bordon.

With climate change bringing about more extreme weather and flood risks we need a long-term plan to make this better or it will keep getting worse.

Please sign our petition and help us hold the Tory Government, the private water companies and the executives who run them to account!
